16 Oct 2007 - IRB Championships 2007

Congratulations to Tom, Will, Karen and Jo who represented the club for the first time ever at the GB IRB Championships in Bournemouth on Sunday 7th October. They did really well, finishing 7th in the mass rescue event, 4th in the single rescue event and narrowly missing a place in the final of the tube rescue event. The boys got better as the day went on, executing a perfect pick up in the final heat of the single person rescue and going on to win the heat (making up for earlier nearly running over Jo and Karen in the mass rescue!). The team placed 2nd out of the Welsh clubs who entered and finished 7th overall - not bad for a club that doesnt own an IRB!!!

The weekend was great fun and the team would like to say a massive thankyou to Chris Parry of Porthmawr club for all his encouragement and hard work.

An official write up of the weekend can be found on the SLSA GB website - see links section.
